Classic Haines Hunter 773 SC Restoration
We love a good passion project! This has been a on-going boat restoration for the owner who took this classic Haines Hunter 773 SC from hiding out covered in cobwebs on a farm to next level refurbishment. It had been a long search but patience had paid off. The owner had been on the search for the classic 773, hoping to find one is restorable condition and was in luck when he found one in fair condition just begging for some tender, love and care. But this wasn’t just any Haines Hunter boat. It was a genuine, un-modified classic, complete with original sales brochures, brought from the original owner back in 1980. Only the second one off the production line! He knew he had to have it.
Renowned for strength and speed, complimented with timeless, sleek lines he began the arduous task of bringing it back to its former glory.It was given a stunning make over with plenty of fine detail work to allow it to shine again. With his previous boat a Haines Hunter V17 half cab purchased 40 yrs ago, the desire for another well built, reliable and sturdy classic was an easy choice. The hopper windows were leaking, mostly perished, which were fully replaced to keep the cabin water tight. The external seals on port and starboard side windows were replaced, in addition to re-sealing the hatch window. These re-seals ensured the vessel was once again, water tight and that no leakage would occur preventing damage to the cabin interior. With the addition of a new 6 litre GM V8 inboard this boat restoration was complete. The Haines 773Sc Classic is ready to see out another 40 yrs and do it in style!
